If all the tenants change then it is a new tenancy, not a change of shared bond.

If there is a change of tenants in a shared bond arrangement, the tenants must notify the RTA of this change. This should be done using a Change of shared bond arrangement (Form 6) or Form R6 for rooming accommodation.

To speed up the process of bond refund it is important that the RTA has the correct details of who to refund the bond to at the end of the tenancy.

Fast facts

• This form should be signed by all existing and new tenants as well as the agent/lessor.
• The incoming tenant should sort out all financial arrangements with the outgoing tenant at this point before the form is signed. The form needs to be signed by the agent/lessor and sent to the RTA.
• If there is a bond loan involved, the tenant/s must contact Department of Communities (Housing and Homelessness Services) to approve the change before sending the form to the RTA.
