Organisational structure![]() General Manager - Fergus SmithMr Smith was appointed as General Manager of the Residential Tenancies Authority in August 2006.From 2002, he was the Manager of RTA's Corporate and Investigations Services division. Prior to joining the RTA he held a range of senior management positions in the Department of Housing in areas including policy, strategic planning, research, performance management, housing system initiatives and community housing. He has also been Director of Client Services for the Queensland Treasury Corporation and worked for some time at Queensland TAFE. The RTA delivers its services through five divisions. ![]() Client Contact Services - Manager, Alan TupperThe Client Contact Services Division offers a free telephone information service for tenants, lessors, agents, residents and accommodation providers. ![]() Corporate Services - Manager, Ray RapinetteThe Corporate Services Division provides internal service and support to the RTA through Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Finance, Business Improvement, Information Technology, Legal Services and Facilities Management. ![]() Dispute Resolution Service - Manager, Phil DavisonThe Dispute Resolution Service offers conciliation services through the use of a telephone negotiation service and the facilitation of meetings between dispute parties. The RTA's clients use this service to assist them to resolve disputes outside the Small Claims Tribunal. ![]() Policy and Education Services - Manager, David BreenPolicy and Education Services combines the policy development, community education, research and investigations areas. It has a strategic focus on tenancy issues and on working with external stakeholders. ![]() Rental Bond Services - Manager, Kylie LewisThe Rental Bond Services Division provides a rental bond service including the processing of all bond lodgements and refunds. ![]() Quality Management ProgramThe RTA is certified against the ISO9001:2000 International Quality Standard. The Quality Management Program reviews and assesses the effectiveness of the business management, administration and information systems. |
