When a tenant signs a General Tenancy Agreement (form 18a) to rent a house, unit, townhouse or flat in Queensland, the lessor or agent must give them this booklet.

There are certain steps that must be followed when a person wants to rent a place to live in Queensland. The tenant and the lessor/agent each have rights that are covered by the law.

This booklet is for tenants who live in houses, flats, units, townhouses and houseboats. It includes all the information the tenant will need while they're renting, and explains their rights and responsibilities.
