New video: Tenancy Essentials – how we can help

The RTA has released a new Tenancy Essentials – how we can help video about two of the RTA’s key services – the client contact centre and dispute resolution.

The RTA’s Valentina Dimoska and Jayde Roberts who feature in the video outline how and when people should contact the RTA if they require tenancy information or help resolving a dispute.

The video is specifically targeted at community support workers who may need to act on behalf of a tenant.

"The vast majority of tenancies in Queensland are successful but there are times when the tenant and landlord/agent don’t agree," Valentina said.

"It’s really important that people address their issue when it arises and that can be as simple as talking to the other person or calling the RTA for information on your rights and responsibilities."

The RTA is also committed to improving access for cultural and language diverse clients as well as those who may have difficulty accessing tenancy information.

"The video outlines how people or their support networks can access help through a free translator service, AUSLAN videos, and dedicated staff that can assist with complex issues," Jayde said.

"The RTA also has a long list of referral services to assist clients who need specialised support including tenant advice through Queensland State-wide Tenant Advice and Referral Service (QSTARS)."
