The RTA has delivered 12 information sessions to over 600 property managers and owners in six locations as part of its 2020 Regional Roadshow to assist Queenslanders navigating the rental sector.
Sessions were held in February and March in Boondall, Keperra, Toowoomba, Roma, Upper Mount Gravatt and West End to give attendees the opportunity to:
- hear directly from RTA staff about how to get the most out of our support service
- obtain clarification around tenancy rights and responsibilities
- learn about Queensland’s current rental laws and how to comply with them
- ask questions about tenancy matters and hot topics
- access information and advice to help prevent and manage disputes.
The RTA had scheduled sessions in Maroochydore and Caboolture on 25 and 26 March. Other sessions were proposed in Gold Coast, Logan, Brisbane East/Redlands, Brisbane West/Ipswich, Townsville, Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Fraser Coast from April to June 2020.
In response to the rapidly changing situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the remaining information sessions have been postponed until further notice. We have made this difficult decision in the best interests of our customers, stakeholders, community and staff, and we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
The RTA has emailed registered attendees for the Maroochydore and Caboolture sessions to advise of the cancellation.
As of 18 March 2020, the RTA’s services will continue to operate as usual, including our Contact Centre on 1300 366 311 and our front desk at 179 Turbot Street Brisbane for individual and tailored customer support.
The RTA will continue to communicate to our customers and the community through the RTA website, our Newsroom and social media channels.
RTA Web Services will continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for bond lodgements, bond refunds, bond disputes and updating customer details.
Webinars and podcasts can be accessed from the RTA website, and we will continue to provide you with information and educational resources in the coming months.
Please subscribe to our Newsroom to get the latest news from the RTA – including event announcements, tenancy information and legislation updates – directly to your inbox.
