The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) is proud to unveil its newly commissioned Indigenous artwork created by local Aboriginal artist and Goenpul/Yagara man Nathaniel Chapman.
Recently launched by the artist with RTA staff, the artwork visually strengthens and supports the RTA’s Songlines phone service, which aims to build connection between the RTA and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
RTA Chief Executive Officer Steve Davidson says the artwork is a vibrant expression of Country, culture and connection.
‘Nathaniel's work tells a story of connection, support and fairness, and that’s exactly what we want to achieve through the work we do at the RTA, including through our Songlines phone service.’
Since launching in July 2025, the RTA’s trained Songlines team members have supported 205 customers by providing a culturally safe experience when answering your questions about renting in Queensland.
The artwork and its many design elements will be featured across the RTA’s educational resources to remind customers of our commitment to and connection between the RTA and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders communities.
