Residential services accommodation is when a resident rents a room or unit that may include services such as meals or personal care. In Queensland, residential services accommodation is usually rented as rooming accommodation.
This page provides information for residents in residential services accommodation and anyone who is supporting them. Residential service providers may also find the information useful. Providers and residents in residential services accommodation sometimes refer to it as supported accommodation.

Services
Services are things you pay for as part of your rent and must be included in your Rooming accommodation agreement (Form R18). If you pay for a service, it must be provided.
Your Rooming accommodation agreement (Form R18)
You or your nominated representative (for example, family member or support person) will need to read and sign a Rooming accommodation agreement (Form R18).
The agreement will tell you:
- how much rent to pay and when
- how long you can stay
- the house rules for the room and accommodation
- what is included, such as meals or other services.
There are penalties if your provider fails to provide a written agreement.
