We’re making improvements to the RTA website to help you find the information you need and improve accessibility for everyone. We’re also working to streamline our content, make it easier to find via search and give customers one webpage for each key renting topic.
New accessibility tool
On our website, you’ll now find an icon in the bottom right corner that looks like a person in a circle. This is our new accessibility tool.
If you click on the icon, you can choose from 9 different accessibility profiles that automatically change the website to suit your needs. The accessibility tool includes a screen reader and colour adjustments at the click of a button – just to name a few.
The accessibility tool may help people with vision impairment, colour blindness, cognitive or learning difficulties, dyslexia and more.
Reducing and improving PDF content
Part of this project involves phasing out fact sheets and reducing the number of PDFs on our website.
Customers can access key PDF resources, like forms and managing party guides. Guides and other PDFs on our website are being reviewed to improve their accessibility, particularly for customers using screen readers.
Improved print page functionality
We recognise that some customers prefer PDFs and printed resources.
To support you, we have improved the ‘print this page’ functionality, which is accessible at the top of each webpage. You can use this tool to:
- print a streamlined, plain text version of a webpage
- save a streamlined version of a webpage as a PDF file.
To print, click on the printer icon to the right of the page title:
If you want to include the date and page numbers on your printed page or PDF, you’ll need to enable headers and footers in your browser’s print settings.
We regularly share new and improved webpages in our monthly e-newsletter. To keep up to date, subscribe to RTA News.
