The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) will be providing tenancy information and support across the state to assist Queenslanders navigate the rental sector.

Between February and June 2020, the RTA roadshow – consisting of over 30 events in more than 16 regions – will deliver information sessions providing advice and support on RTA services and tenancy matters to encourage compliance with Queensland’s rental laws and help make renting work for everyone.

To kick off our roadshow, the RTA will host information sessions in Brisbane North, Toowoomba and Roma in February. Locations and timings of other scheduled information sessions will be available on the RTA website.

March: Brisbane South, Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast

April:    Gold Coast, Logan

May:    Brisbane East/Redlands, Brisbane West/Ipswich, Townsville, Cairns

June:   Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Fraser Coast

RTA Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Smith said the regional roadshow offered opportunities for rental communities across the state to connect and hear from the RTA and access tenancy advice, updates and support in person.

“In 2020, the RTA is bringing our knowledge of the Queensland rental legislation and customised tenancy support to you directly,” said Ms Smith.

“I encourage the rental community, especially those in regional areas, to join us at their local RTA information session to ask questions, share their ideas and experiences about renting in Queensland, and learn more about the RTA’s compliance activities to ensure renting works for everyone.”

Help us spread the word by encouraging your peers and colleagues to subscribe to the RTA Newsroom and stay tuned for further details on the roadshow.
