In April 2024, the RTA will deliver free in-person information sessions for property managers/agents and property owners in Bundaberg, Traditional Country of the Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Bailai Peoples. 

At this session, we’ll provide the latest information about renting in Queensland to help you manage successful tenancies. 

Our experienced presenters will answer your tenancy questions and discuss:   

  • recent and proposed rental law changes, including minimum housing standards 
  • data insights for your region 
  • resources to help you understand tenancy rights and responsibilities  
  • tips to prevent and manage disputes 
  • RTA compliance and enforcement activities 
  • free RTA support services and resources available to you. 

Registrations are essential as capacity is limited.

Do you manage or own a unit or townhouse in a body corporate?

The Residential Tenancies Authority’s (RTA) is collaborating with the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management (BCCM) to host a free information session in Southport, Traditional Country of the Yugambeh Peoples.

This is a great opportunity for property managers, owners and tenants to learn and ask questions.

At these sessions, experienced RTA and BCCM team members will explore common topics where there is an overlap in Queensland tenancy and body corporate laws, outlining who does what, timeframes required and how everyone can communicate and work effectively together.

Topics you will learn more about include:

  • RTA and BCCM Office – roles and services
  • body corporate by-laws – what are they and who needs a copy
  • pet request approval process
  • minimum housing standards and repairs
  • breach process in a body corporate and residential tenancy
  • fixtures and modifications to external buildings
  • upcoming changes to body corporate laws and proposed rental reforms. 

Multiple sessions delivering the same content will be available. Please register for only one session. Registrations are essential as demand is high and capacity is limited.
