The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) has published RTA quarterly data on our website for the first time. This is part of the RTA’s commitment to expanding data releases to better inform the rental sector on current needs, emerging issues, service delivery and trends.
You can download the data on the RTA quarterly data webpage.
What does this release include?
Data about the RTA’s core services and functions for the quarters ending September 2024, December 2024 and March 2025 is available. The data is drawn from:
- customer support
- bond management
- compliance and enforcement
- dispute resolution.
Yearly data for these categories can also be found in our annual reports.
Expanding the release of RTA data
The RTA acknowledges that stakeholders are interested in the data we collect about Queensland’s residential rental sector. This has been highlighted during stakeholder forums, working groups and other meetings.
While some data is published in the RTA’s median rent releases and annual reports, increasing the frequency of publication provides greater transparency and helps to support the sector.
We anticipate that quarterly data releases will deliver insight into sector and market trends. It will also support stakeholders in providing key services to their members and customers. These services are an important part of Queensland’s rental and housing sectors, so collaboration across the sectors leads to better outcomes for everyone.
Partnering with Queensland’s rental sector
The release of quarterly data was initiated after the release of the Stakeholder engagement framework 2024–26. The framework was developed to address the diverse needs and perspectives of the Queensland rental sector and to improve the way the RTA engages with stakeholders.
New stakeholder working groups were also initiated following the release of the framework and were consulted about this data release. Stakeholders provided feedback about the types of data included in the release, the accompanying information and the usability of the data. Some feedback was implemented for this public release. Additional feedback about the types of data included is being considered for the next release in July 2025.
