Queensland Government Dispute Resolution Centres offer alternatives to going to court, including mediation, facilitation, information and referral services across a range of dispute types including neighbour disputes, family disputes and workplace conflict. It can help with disputes between neighbours and co-tenants.

The department offers a range of services and support to help find, secure and maintain tenancy:

Financial help with renting

• Bond Loans are interest-free and fee-free loans (maximum 4 weeks rent) for eligible people who cannot afford to pay a full rental bond. They must be repaid. Bridging Bond Loans are also available to help cover the upfront costs of a new bond pending the release of existing bonds held by the RTA, and Bond Loan Plus to cover the rental bond plus an amount equal to 2 weeks rent. Check your eligibility.
   
• Rental Grants is a one-off grant of 2 weeks rent for people in a housing crisis to cover some costs associated with moving into private rental accommodation. Check your eligibility.
   
• Rental Security Subsidy helps customers experiencing temporary hardship to begin or continue a tenancy by providing time-limited financial support. For more information, visit the Queensland Government’s Rental Security Subsidy page.
   
• No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) provides interest and fee-free loans to cover costs of removalists, key deposits, essential home furnishings, rent arrears and other expenses deemed appropriate by the loan provider, National Australia Bank. • Helping Hand Headlease supports tenants who wish to move into or remain in the private rental market but cannot access a tenancy on their own for various reasons. It is designed to support vulnerable tenants such as young people leaving care, people escaping Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and people exiting social housing or supported accommodation.
