Customers with a single name
Customers must provide a first and last name to use RTA Web Services. If you have a single (only one) name, please call the RTA on 1300 366 311 to discuss your options.
Queensland Digital Identity (QDI) is the Queensland Government’s digital identity system. QDI replaced QGov in April 2025.
QDI is used to verify your personal identity when logging into RTA Web Services, as well as other Queensland Government online services.
RTA Web Services customers must verify their personal identity through QDI. Digital verification is a substitute for your signature on paper. It helps to reduce the risk of fraud and secure your online transactions with the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). If you cannot use QDI or RTA Web Services, you can use our paper forms.
Please see the information below or visit the Queensland Government’s QDI website for more help with QDI.
Advice for organisations
When using RTA Web Services on behalf of an organisation (e.g. real estate agency or tenant organisation) you must:
- verify your personal identity through the Queensland Digital Identity (QDI) system
- select 'organisation’ as your customer type in RTA Web Services
- provide your organisation’s RTA ID when prompted.
You will only be contacted using the organisation’s main email address and phone number. Your personal information will not be shared with tenants/residents, your organisation or anyone else.
How to create your QDI
When you use RTA Web Services, agree to the terms and conditions and click ‘Proceed’. You'll be taken to the Queensland Government's QDI system. Follow the prompts to log into QDI and verify your personal identity. If you've never used RTA Web Services before, you will be able to create a QDI.
Visit the QDI website for more information on creating and strengthening your QDI, including which documents you can use to verify your identity.
